About this Talk
Revision can be so much more than polishing sentences, scenes, plotlines -- it can also be a rebirth of things that couldn't quite fully become the first time around. Sometimes this requires shattering the surface of our stories to reach the murkier depths of what isn't yet. But when is this desirable? What does it offer? By weaving in some memorable instances of shattering in contemporary fiction, as well as anecdotes from our own writing experiences, we hope this talk with encourage and affirm those in the revision process of both long and short projects.
